“A garden is a grand teacher. It teaches patience and careful watchfulness; it teaches industry and thrift; above all it teaches entire trust.”
We know for many of our educators and students summer time is about relaxing. However, while you enjoy your summer vacation think about the exciting possibility of starting a fall classroom garden this upcoming year! For those of you new to the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension service and the Bexar County Youth Gardens program; our programs work to train educators just like you on building a garden, and using it as a teaching tool for your children. Kids of all ages will enjoy the hands-on lessons naturally delivered from the garden, as well as the award winning Junior Master Gardener curricula. Children need more than ever to reconnect with the natural world, be exposed to nutritious foods, and become responsible stewards of the environment. Be a champion for the 2013-2014 school year and sign up for our upcoming training’s that will give you the tools to build, grow, and inspire!
